CountBogro inspired me to buy some of the new deep sea sets today. I went to ToyRus, looked for the sets, but they didn't have any

Every toy product seems to come late here to Denmark. Even the new LEGO sets, which are available in other countries, can't be found here and we are talking about the home country of LEGO

After a couple of weeks delay I finally got my hands on one of these.

I hadn't realised from Mark's pictures that the foot weights and clear helmet lock the two big halves of the suit together, a very neat and economical bit of design. Taking the clear helmet off allows the two sides to swing apart again, and the foot weights drop loose.

My only complaint would be that the red propellors appear to drive the unit forwards and down - how does he go up? My supposition is that all four propellors can be operated independently and run either direction (probably by small thumb lever controls inside his gloves, like the controls on a computer console game handset), allowing rotation and yaw as well as movement forwards, backwards, up and down.

Very nice figure. I tried him in the bathtub, the foot weights obviously make him sink to the bottom, but the air pocket in his head keeps him upright.

If I was still a child, or had a child of the right age, I could see this little chap exploring rockpools at the seaside for hours on end. A great companion for a waterside trip anywhere.

If diving him with the rope, it's wise to tie the rope on. I used the hook, but it unhooks very easily, and it'd be a shame to lose the guy in deeper water.

I think maybe a child of around 65 may also get a kick out of
exploring the deep with the little klicky.

Same helix can rotate both sides, so, the helix placed horizontally works for either going up or down. Although it's only a help ... it's a heavy suit, Martin, it has to be lifted up!
