On klickywelt details are appearing about the new fire brigade sets for 2008 from Markus, a member who knows someone "in the know" (at least that's how I interpret the translation). If he is right, then there are rather more sets than I expected. There will be a fire station based on the new construction building 4043 (not unexpected), a fire engine with a water tank and a crew cab, an emergency tender and a Unimog, possibly also with a water tank. Two photos of "original models (forms)" are promised for tonight. I think this means they are photos of sample prototypes.
If all this is true, then it is far more than I was expecting. I thought there would be at most two versions of the Unimog (a pump with water tank and an emergency tender, possibly as one chassis with interchangeable rear bodywork), a fire car based on the 4223 ambulance/4259 police estate car (I notice that the 4223 is no longer on the German site and the paramedic motorcycle 4224 has also disappeared. I guess the latter will be reissued pretty quickly with the working blue light on the rear as with the new police motorcycle 4261.) and the fire station I think that the basis for the non-Unimog fire engines might be the MAN rally truck, although the RC truck is another possibility.
