Motorbiking...
« on: March 20, 2008, 20:33:46 »
Playmobil have produced some very individual motorbikes and bikers over the years, and I was lucky to pick up a few of the unusual ones in the last couple of weeks:

As far as I can tell these are the original figures that went with the bikes.

If anyone has other bikes to post, please add to the thread! I have a few more modern ones, but I'm going to wait for better lighting conditions tomorrow.

I have almost all of the police bikes. I am missing the Canadian release one from this last year and the not yet released new version.

The "hippy trike" in your first pic, Martin, is one of my favourites even though I don't have the set (3832).  8-)
I borrowed one for a photoshoot once (see attachment). :)

We have a few racing bikes, police bikes, and a couple of choppers, but most of them are packed away in rather hard-to-get-at places.
I will take some photos if I manage to unearth any of them. :-[

Love your display, Tim!

I've got a variety of m/bikes, police, paramedic and others, including some of the racing bikes.  Like Sylvia, these are stashed away but when I come across them I'll take some photos.

Here's some racing motorbikes with their matching riders. :)

This first one (3303) is the oldest I have:

And these 2 (which only differ from the first by colour and stickers) come from set 3779:

Here's the chopper variation which was available through the DS catalogue a few years ago, 7294.
It comes from the same mold as Martin's (3831), just different colours and printed pattern on the seating area. 8-)

There was no figure included in this set, just the bike and the helmet. :)

Not necessarily! ;)
But if you're going to post pics of real bikes then they should also include their real riders. ;D

you are quite right sylvia (although it can be dangerous to take a picture of myself while riding it).  :-[
i can always ask my wife to do it (although taking a picture while driving a car can be dangerous too).  ???
somehow, i will find a way, i promise.  0)
meanwhile, i leave you with 2 pictures of 2 bikes that i love (although everybody else hates) nad that i would think would give excellent models for playmobil to replicate: the suzuki katana (early 80's) and the bmw k1 (early 90's).
i think they have that "démodé" look that all playmo-bikes seem to share...  :)

Hey Tim,

I dug up this thread  ;D
See that you have a 3564 police bike there with an African male on it, in black uniform. Is that the one out of set 3623?

Nice to see there are more bike-collectors :-)
Just got some more for my birthday from my wife and kids :-)
