Catapult Castle (seen in TRU)
« on: March 03, 2008, 11:33:19 »
I whizzed along to TRU in Hayes yesterday, having the luxury of motorised wheels for the weekend, and spotted this set that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere else before. It's available on Amazon UK for £40.

I didn't buy it, as the castle bits (and it's not a whole castle) are Steck so I couldn't connect them to my System-X castles, and the tops of the towers are a stupid colour, and there was little else in it to interest me - plus the box was battered to bits, it had obviously been found loose in the warehouse and just shoved on the shelves. It is a North American set from what I could surmise.

However there was one interesting feature, the red caparison and horse hood are not ones I've seen elsewhere. Couldn't buy the whole set just for that, but does anyone know the numbers for these pieces?

Ah, I couldn't remember the number, apart from it starting with a 5.

I'll try to get the horse coat as a spare part, to add to my collection.

Unfortunately the klickies in this set just aren't very interesting to me, or I'd have bought the set, and be able to give you a box-back picture.

Thanks Heather!

Hi Martin,

This set was available to the UK about 2 years ago, I found them on the shelf at our local woolworths for £29.99. You will often find so called exclusive sets turn up here in the UK at stores like Woolworths, Boots, TRU and TK Maxx (Eagle castle).

Maybe not Woolworths anymore, our local one cleared its shelves of Playmobil and now only stocks cheap tatty toys - unless that was just our branch. I'd really like Woolworths to stock Playmobil again, as it'd be one of my closest outlets.

Hi Martin I saw the set on Amazon US, but the fine print informed me it was sold out.
The red horse hood was recently available as part of the jousting accessory pack via direct sales.

But, I agree with you about not buying...  it's one of those "I ought to buy it, but da**it, it just isn't quite worth it!"

PM USA is offering the Dragon Knight Siege Tower on its discontinued line...
1) I already have one siege tower (the original that came with more knights)
2) I really like the flags it comes with, but $20 for some flags is a hard justification!

so far the item described have those beautifully chosen tones. I really like the florescent yellow rammer on the tower . all you need now is the new pirate ship and your looking gooooood ;)
