Aside from Playmobil, my other most time-consuming hobby is Morris Dancing.

For several years I've been playing music of one form or another, and over the years have played violin, clarinet, guitar, mandolin, penny whistle, bodhran, and melodeon.

The melodeon led me to join a group of Morris Men in the fall of 2005, and ever since I've been both a musician and dancer with the Spring Grove Morris Men. I'm the happy looking chap bottom left of the page.

A while back I created a Klickie Morris Dancer, then spent a few months collecting the body parts to do a whole team, but couldn't get a Playmobil violin for my figure (I play both fiddle and melodeon for Morris). As a result I never quite finished the project.  :-[

This figure is not quite in our side's kit, but I've since collected straw hats to replace the top hat, and now have a whole team, so have the means to re-create a full dance in picture story form. I'd like to do a stop-motion version, with musical soundtrack, but haven't figured out how yet.

Fleet's a bit out of my easy traveling radius!  :'(

There's a lot more pictures of the side at Off-Spring Morris. This is our mixed team, and I took a lot of the pictures in 2006.

I haven't got any more pictures of my Playmo-rris side yet - it's not the weather for Morris Dancing outdoors yet.

The violin would be good; I'm using a rebec for now for my klicky-me.

The Pig in that picture is one of our irregular members, Graham. The darn thing seems to be made from concrete, it weighs a ton, and so far this year we don't have a volunteer to carry it. Some Morris sides make a lot out of having a beast as part of their show, but for us it's a bonus. Being a beast, or a "fool" as some sides have, is a skill that not everybody can acquire.
