Hmm... a very interesting topic...
..to be honest, most of the time I am actively trying to look for nothing:hmm:

These last weeks, I am still lost in all the nice new releases from Playmobil.

So, in a way, I am not searching any sets, the sets are finding me...  :yup: 8}

best,
socrates

P.S.:
I am looking for an odd one that i have not seen on ebay or anywhere for that matter . It is not very exciting because it is just building parts . I want to construct a mining operation and these parts in the set would be perfect . The catch is i want about 10 of them . My other option is using System X and it would just loose its glamor and vintage style.  Oh ya the set is 7400 x 10

This has been a wonderful extension... It was always available via DS since I can remember...
...and I was desperately eager to get it.
...but the price was amazingly high.  :'(

If you seriously want to collect these pieces you have to look out for the newer sets that include most of the vintage pieces... There was a T'R'US-exclusive safari set (5759?) including some of the pieces...
And I have been typically going for the old freight terminal (4305) which has tons of these parts... :)

I am desperately fiending after #4305, the freight depot. I recently saw one sell on Ebay for $150 MIB which I would have paid gladly. I just wasn't around when the auction ended.

Before Christmas I did purchase the water tower set, #3766. It was MIB and now it's mint on my layout. It really is  a great set. I hope you find one soon MacGayver :-)
What's the point of going, if you can't get there on a train?

One set i was wanteing but turned off by the price, was the 3551 fishing trawler. I was able to get them used and now i need to cast the missing parts .

I also finaly got my 3627 Merry mens feast a few months ago but i have not opened it yet . It just sits there calling my name at night . All those poor klickies want to be freed .  :help:

I drool over the Colorado Springs Train Station every time one appears on ebay US. I long to have it but can't afford what it goes for!  I do have some parts for it.  But not enough.

On another note I just recently got now one but TWO of the schooner ships!!!  They were listed wrong by the same seller.  I got unbelievably low prices on them!  In case anyone is searching for them there are currently 2 more schooners on ebay US that are listed wrong and very cheap, from 2 different sellers! Good luck finding them.  I can't buy them I have to save for all the other things I want.

quite a bit, but the significant pieces are the long stairs, and the wall that has a groove in it to hold the adjoining roof piece. well, I just looked at the playmodb site and I am missing a lot more than that! but I do I have some of the parts  :)

I finally found my most sought after piece, it is the teeny-weeny little yellow stick for the children's 'toy hoop' (from the Victorian fence set.)  I cannot believe how thrilled I was when it arrived! I really would like the little white summer house with the red roof and a blue church, I was lucky enough to get 2 trawlers and 2 schooners, very pleased with my PM finds at this stage, good luck to all with your wish lists.  SQ
