Playmobil 123 set 70271 klicky different from box art?
« on: February 27, 2025, 21:37:22 »
I got Playmobil 123 set 70271 recently & only just opened it up today.

The playmodb info for 60-01-0630 says the klicky is female, the box art shows a klicky with a bobbed hair style, but when i opened the (new MIB) set the klicky inside has short hair, different to the klicky on the box art & leaflet inside.

Does anyone else have this set & can confirm if the klicky in the set is the same as the box art normally?

(I'll add photos later).

Uhm.. mine is a man too.

And I have no idea if I noticed this when I opened it (that's what I get from an out of date PROCESS - and old age. :-[ )

I tried looking online for owner/out of box images to see if anyone else had the short haired klicky (or the one with the bob like the one in the box photos) but only found one - also of the short haired version, so that's interesting that yours was short haired too Tahra!

I wonder if the one they produced was the short haired version, & the long haired version only existed in the promo photos for the box art (it's a shame if so, i think the longer haired version in the box art is much cuter).

Do you know of any/many instances where this has happened? (items produced were different than those advertised on the box images).

You could try asking customer services at Playmobil UK. Send them a picture of the figure in your set and ask if this was a packaging error.
It is certainly not a common problem with PM- the set contents usually match the box pictures, at least in recent years.
I checked on German and Spanish forums, but there was no mention of this issue.

And see this (posted very recently)..
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

Thanks Graham, I did notice NovaBombardment's post mentioning theirs was a male!

I contacted the Playmobil customer services as soon as I noticed to ask about it, & will update if/when I have any info.

I did wonder if the difference was down to when the set was released (2020) what with everything that was going on at the time.

Where there is an illustration of a product on packaging manufacturers usually have a disclaimer on the packaging that contents may differ from the illustration to cover cases such as this.

Wasn't it quite common in the early days of Playmobil for the figures to be different colours to the ones on the box?

I don't think I've ever got an unexpected/different piece though

Thanks! I did check the box & didn't see any disclaimer!

I just got a replacement 60010630 today & lo & behold, exactly the same as the one I already have, so they definitely changed the klicky between when the promo/advertising shots were taken & when they were released.
