As someone who watched the original Star Trek when it was first broadcast, who actually shed tears because Spock could not love, and whose world-view was forever shaped by the message in "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield," I will definitely get this set.   8-)

Me and my brothers also watched it when first broadcast. It was a very significant piece of TV. What I loved was the way things I had read about in Sci-Fi novels and short stories were there on the screen- the transporter beams, scanners to detect life, medical diagnostic scanners, needle-less injections, faster-than-light travel, etc. Nevertheless, I did not become a 'Trekkie' and cannot boldly go out to buy this set.
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

From a Dutch news item (source: https://tweakers.net/geek/183346/playmobil-lanceert-star-trek-uss-enterprise-speelset.html?fbclid=IwAR0zQRFKTYZzyZzcW7w7YWyPoZ5NDqu15dzWKQj_wXIP6ubJNikXJnxPHAA):

Naast het ruimteschip bevat de set de speelfiguren Dr. Leonard 'Bones' McCoy, Chekov, Lt. Uhura, James T. Kirk, Spock, Lt. Sulu en Montgomery "Scotty" Scott. Bovendien belooft Playmobil dat er meer accessoires op komst zijn, dus wellicht vult het bedrijf deze aan met bijvoorbeeld Klingons of Romulans.

Translated (the bold part):

In addition, Playmobil promises that more accessories are on the way, so perhaps the company will supplement these with, for example, Klingons or Romulans. :o

I don't know enough about Star Trek, but it would seem stupid not to release other, smaller sets (like famous aliens).

Absolutely, why get the license for only one set? Harvey Mudd with Dribbles, Klingons, Romulans, that salt monster, the white ape with th horn, and so on. Loads of possibilities even just from the original series.

Why make the phasers and Spock's hair for only one limited set.
We'll probably get a transporter room, every Star Trek toy lines had a transporter room :) A Galileo shuttle could be fun.

Would love to - but the price (est. 500 Euro according to the article) is way to deer for me :(.
Pity as it really looks good!

Hopefully they will release a number of good looking sets seperately!

It looks like there will be 5000 units in total.

Where did you find where it said there will be 5000 units total?

Wouldn´t 5000 units be a very limited production run?

Resistance is futile, you will be boarded!
