No! Not to be too harsh, or too critical, but I believe before you are offended you should ask yourselve a few questions. Understanding, that the answers may not be readily available or apparent. In that case, you can choose your poison.
Is the custom aimed at you, or a group you identify with and meant to be malicious?
Is the custom meant to offend, deride, belittle or otherwise give insult?
Is the custom offensive in and of itself?
If the answer to these questions is no, then why would you choose to be offended?
And if the answers are not apparent or readily available, I still wonder why you would choose to be offended. I would give the benefit of the doubt until evidence to the contrary was made available.
I believe offensive is easy to find, if you look for it. I choose (generally) not to look for it.
