Ah, yeah Herberl and the Old Knight's (who I'm assuming is Sir Volric/Mysterious Knight) first meeting isn't seen in the story, that happens a while before.
What is said about the meeting in the photostory so far is that Herberl was an outlaw then (but you don't know what for yet) and that Volric helped Herberl when he was at his most vulnerable. Herberl was then taken by Volric as a sort of apprentice/unofficial squire for a little while.
