Welcome AntA, from Stroud, England! Collecting PM sounds like a great hobby for retirement and I have learnt from other Dutch PF members (e.g. Raven and Mr. Raven) that there is a lot of old PM available in Holland!
For inventories of sets, PlaymoDB is a good starting point, as Ismene pointed out. For older sets, especially pre-1990, one of the best places to go is the topic

www.klickywelt.de where you will find photos of the set contents of many sets laid out. You need to register on Klickywelt to view the topic, but it's free to register and quite easy.
As there are some gaps in the inventories, both on PlaymoDB and Datenbank Setinhalt, I am slowly trying to fill those gaps, so I hope we will be able to help one another in the future!
