Historical question on American Civil War
« on: August 14, 2007, 17:15:48 »
The names of the playmo forts (Randall, Glory, Bravo), are they based on historical forts?

Do you know real names of forts of both confederation or union?

Thx,

DD.

It doesn't follow that the names of the Playmobil forts were necessarily Union or Confederate as the forts may have been built before the American Civil War or after it.

Anyway, here's a link on Fort Randall from Google:

https://www.nwo.usace.army.mil/html/Lake_Proj/fortrandall/military.html

and

From Google, I think Fort Glory might be made up

Fort Bravo may have been taken from a 1953 film Escape from Fort Bravo.  In the film, Fort Bravo is a Union Fort where Confederate officers are held prisoner.  Information from Google again.

I think that most of those forts were from the Indian wars - not so  much from the Civil war.

If you'd put a canon against one of them there wouldn't much be left to resist  ;D
