Kleine Züge in der großen Welt - wee trains big on tour

Ab und zu kann ich meine Züge auf anderen Gartenbahnanlagen ausführen. Hier ein paar Eindrücke vom Fahrtag bei einem Gartenbahner, der mal eben einen geschätzten halben Kilometer Gleis im Garten versenkt hat, auf dem ca. zwanzig Zuggarnituren pc-gesteuert fahren (während nochmal rund 20 Loks auf Abstellgleisen bereitstehen...  ).

Every once in a while my trains are allowed a day off to stroll real garden train layouts. Yesterday we met at a mate's providing about half a mile of tracks and some 20 trains ready to run, another 20 engines waiting on sidings... Some impressions of a real great day off. I had my railbus "Schweineschnäuzchen", a self built DRG VT 149 with me.


Neben so einer großen V200 schaut der Ameisenbär ja ziemlich klein aus, ...

Next to a V200 Diesel my railbus's looking very small. But a wee change of surroundings can make a big difference:

...aber es gab auch Triebwagen, die ähnlich groß waren.


Ein Haltepunkt am Rande...

Just a stop and a really big station.

Some impressions on the line and next to a Spreewaldbahn steam enging pulling some Reichsbahn Abteilwagen (I've no idea how they're called in proper English, maybe some natives can help?).

Marco says it all, and an Abteilwagen is called a compartment coach over here and the LGB 3050s are a favourite of mine, I have four of them.

Wish my favourites where only them...  . There's a couple of LGB Trains (engines and coaches/trucks) I'd like to have... Well, let's see what time and christmas may bring...  .

Wenn's bloß diese Waggons wären...  . Es gibt ein paar LGB Züge, die mir gefallen würden. Mal sehen, was die Zeit und das Christkind so bringen werden...  .

Wish she would - if only there was a chance of her buying me a christmas present at an LGB-shop. But realistically spoken let's hope she doesn't not to let her see what that might lead to...  .

Schön wär's, sofern sie sich zum Weihnachtseinkauf inspirieren ließ. Aber da ich eher fürchte, sie könnte sehen, was noch passieren könnte, ist's wohl besser, sie liest hier nicht mit  .

Wir waren nochmal unterwegs.

Another day out in the green. This time the latest (more likely last) Playmobil engine was allowed a run on free land tracks pulling a pair of LGB flat beds. Starting at a station right by overtaking another train waiting it passed a wee village and its church before...

Gestern durften zwei Loks und ein Personenzug in Nürnberg in das natürliche Habitat der Gartenbahnen eintauchen. Viel Spaß mit den ersten Eindrücken.

Den Anfang...

...durfte die "Kleine Gelbe" machen. Aus logistischen Gründen mit zwei LGB-Waggons.

Across a nice bridge - something I was never able to provide my trains at home with  -  and past the yards the train enters its final destination where from it returns. All pics taken at a mates layout in Nuremberg during a gardenbahners'-meeting last Saturday. It's good to have friends who do own open air layouts when one can't afford his own one...  .

It's a shame Playmobil have abandoned the train theme.  Surely, Playmobil and LGB/Marklin could have come up with a join package of some sort?
