Schwabach is a little Franconian town and celebrates it´s 900 years jubilee.

In this town, there were "Goldschlaeger" since more than 500 years.

Goldschlaeger are craftsmen, who make the very thin goldfoil, which is used for coloring ornaments in churches or something else.

Ja, der kleine Hammer ist wieder da. Es war der einzige im Playmobilsortiment, der zum Goldschäger paßte.

Yes, the gavel's back as it's playmobil's only hammer matching the goldbeater. Just got me a handfull of those lads - they're looking great, I think  . I'm just wondering if it's gold beater or goldbeater in English... Could anybody confirm (or tell, it's a completely other term to call that profession)?
