....errr, its just gibberish

I couldn't find any "H.M.S. XXXX" nor any words in german....so the word POLISH was to give the name some inclination (or 'leaning to'

) to Germany

Hi cheng! A suitable wording could be "S.M.S. GEFION", a light cruiser which took part in the battle of Taku (SMS is the German abbreviation of HMS).

Die schauen gut aus. Wenn Du die Mützenbeschriftung änderst, könntest Du auch diesen Stern da wegmachen, der paßt nicht zur Deutschen Marine

Instead of the star there would be a roundel, red point in the middle, followed by a white and finally a black circle. Here's a sample (third pic from top):
