While browsing a TRU selection of Playmobil I noticed that the Jim's food Truck was now in a new box design (bigger and a waste of space) until I noticed there was a new set number on it too.  And they just happened to have the old style box so I could compare... the number changed and box size increased, but no other changes.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one :)

I noticed this for the School Bus as well. Not sure why they needed to change the packaging.  ::)

Both sets released in 2015. Neither is a US exclusive set, presumably. Strange!
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

There seems to be a change in that the 5677 set is in French and Englsih.

The instructions for both have both numbers printed, so they are identical. (I have to tweak the inventories, one has extra parts not on the plans.) Strangely, 5677 with the bilingual packaging is not available in Canada - only 5632 is. On the US site, both are available and 5677 is $5 cheaper!

Did you look at the backs? I noticed some if the newest US sets have a new style box back. Packaging shift underway I think.

The backs are different with the Summer Fun one showing more pieces, e.g. crockery, drinks cartons and sauce containers.

I just purchased 5677 last week, The first thing I noticed was the red on the box. Once home, I realized that 5637 Knights Armory Playbox had the same addition of red.

Had to go have a close look at this! 5677 shows all the duplicate parts, that's what's happening there. (Whew. Thought I'd misspoken about them being identical, but no.)
