Historical note: the Sarmatians were confederation of Iranian tribes who dominated parts of eastern Europe and western Asia for about a millennium centered on 0 A.D. Some of them became auxiliary troops in the Roman Empire and a contingent was stationed in Britain. That is why this Sarmatian is wearing Roman style gear; Sarmatians in their own lands wore different gear.

The movie King Arthur (2004) is based on a theory that the Arthurian legends were brought to Britain and also partly acted out by the aforementioned Sarmatians in Roman service.
