Building Pizzerias with Steck

This discussion started buried int he 20% Sale thread and I wanted to bring it out where it could be more easily found. The question is how to use the Pizzeria add-ons without having to buy the modern shop building. I've done it twice using Steck system, both based on the bakery set but customized some in each case.

First here is the version using the Bakery as a double wide by double wide building. For non-Steck users the Steck system measurement we use are based on the standard castle wall width. The front of a Steck Bakery building with the big shopfront that opens is two standard walls wide, as are most of the white 'fachwerk' (Tudor stick and plaster style) building sides.

The front as you see has the sign stuck on with blue tack as well as an adapted menu board. I am showing the back of this row of buildings so you see the construction. Specifically I have used the brown corner pieces from the Sheriff's office set to make the back wall a regular double wide open wall. There is a version of open wall that includes the corners in the right manner but it doesn't allow the easy access that the normal double wide open wall does.

The side walls are both solid with no windows, allowing maximum space for the interior.

Interior, note I have changed the oven so the smaller grill is on the bottom on this one, I add an additional one on top in my other version of this.

ALso this version combines Pizza with Rotisserie Chicken, so you see the equipment for that as well.

The other version is 2 wide by 4 long. In this case it was incorporated into a larger building but could easily be done this way as a stand alone.
One end is again the bakery wall.

The interior is 4 wide, allowing a seating area in one half and the cooking area in the other.

The construction makes use of the three way connector in brown that comes from 3716 farm or 3775 pony ranch building. Like the brown corner it matches nicely with the fachwerk wall colors. 3-Way connectors are commonly available in the grey stone castle style, it's the most commonly included connector in castle sets so you could easily use that instead. As you see one long wall is two double wide open, one end wall is hte bakery window, the other long wall is solid in the kitchen part and has the door and window entry piece in the seating area, and the final end wall is again solid - though it could have been the two window wall which is actually easier. I again used the brown corners to allow the solid wall on the end.

I've combined together a bunch of parts form various sets here. The sink is from the vacation house for instance.

The oven here is a double oven, where I've taken a second smaller oven so I can have one below and one on top.

This is all pretty wonderful (pretty AND wonderful) - TX!  So, excuse the ignorance, but are Steck buildings "just" the medieval-style ones? I wasn't sure (and am still not) exactly what Steck connatates. As usual, your set-ups are sublime & really inspire me, though I'm far from your creativity yet. My head's a-buzz with all the new ideas.

So that's it. Pretty simple for experienced Steck builders, but a nice project for people just starting out with the system. You can use commonly available grey castle parts in place of the brown corners and 3-way if that's what you have. If you don't have either it's worth a try through DS for them.
Brown 3-Way connector part number is 30 07 0830
Brown corner connector part number is 30 08 4050
3-way may not be available but the corner should be, it was in 7378 Sheriff's office add-on, and in the new Western Bank 6478 as well.

Steck is a building system that was used in the old castle sets, and also in some other series such as Farm, Pony Ranch, and Western. The Victorian House is also a type of Steck but the proportions for walls are different so you don't see it integrated as much. I think there is a thread over at Klickywelt wit all the parts listed. I will go now and look for it.
Edit: Didn't find it? Someone more familiar there know if that in fact exists? If not we should do one here.

Thank you, again. Yes, I have questions....  The first being, I'm assuming you're acquiring all the parts other than connectors primarily by buying LOT of sets & breaking them down? My feeling is you can't get all the structure pieces through DS. So, I need to buy tailor & blacksmith shops while I can?  And the others you mention....

Also, does pic Santa Castle 28 show a 2-story structure? If so, then that's amazing. 

Looks like I need to get over my fear of pulling things apart & casting the pieces hither & thither.
