That is the joy of paying licensing and or royalties and why the hockey sets are so expensive. Most items Playmobil used to make are of their own making and design, companies and logos on their toys are of their own creation. As soon as they start making items like Lego(R) has been doing for years with the Star Wars, Batman, ect the price goes up. Do not be suppriesed that when Playmobil brings out the Ghostbusters items that you are not paying 75.00-95.00CAD for the Ecto-2 car when most cars made by Playmobil currently go for 35.00-45.00 CAD.
But I think Playmobil is on the right track to keeping themselves going, kids want to play with the things they see and watch. They want to reenact those things. If Playmobil made Dora the explorer, Sesame Street ect you can be sure that they would sell like crazy. There are a lot of things I would like playmobil to make for the Western Theme, but that is just not in so much for kids these days in the Canadian market or the US market for that matter. They want the City Action and Fantasy (as my niece will tell me, shes 5 and knows her toys) I grew up watching Clint Eastwood western movies and The Duke John Wayn so I wanted to play with toys that let me make my own world of western.
