Part 7 - No Elephants Yet'Zebras aren't very interesting,' said Toby, 'Can we go and see the elephants?'
'Look!' said Toby, 'You can climb up this tree. I want to go up there.'
'But I thought you weren't interested in looking at zebras,' said Mummy.
'I'd be interested in looking at them from up a tree!' answered Toby.
'Oh yes,' said Toby, 'They are much more interesting from up here!'
'This must be the Cape Buffalo,' said Mummy.
'We don't need to see those,' said Toby.
'Yes we do,' said Daddy.
'OK, we've seen them now,' said Toby.
'Toby, I haven't even arrived at the fence yet!' said Daddy.
'Have you seen them now?' said Toby.
'Yes, I suppose so,' sighed Daddy.
'Hippos are big!' said Toby.
'But we can go and see the elephants now, can't we?' he asked.
'Yes, Toby, we'll go and see the elephants,' said Daddy.
'What's this, though?' said Toby, 'It's a campsite, right in the middle of the zoo! Oh, I'd love to stay here!'
'You
said we could go and see the elephants now,' protested Toby.
'Yes, but Toby, if I remember correctly, the lions are right at the end of this zoo. So we may as well go and see them first, and then come back to the elephants. Then we are seeing everything in order, and we won't have to double-back on ourselves.'
'OK,' muttered Toby, 'Though lions are boring; they don't
do anything.'
'Look! There are horses!' said Toby.
'I can't even see any lions,' said Toby, 'So can we go to the elephants now?'
'But wait,' said Toby, 'What is this?'
'It looks like you can go for a drive through the lion enclosure,' said Mummy.
'Oh, Mummy, can we do that please?'
'It's 15 Playmolians per adult, and 10 Playmolians for accompanied children,' said the Safari Attendant.
'I'm not going,' said Daddy.
'This will be great!' said Toby.
'The lions should be behind this crop of rocks,' said the Safari Driver, 'If you turn around to face the rear window, you will get a good view of them.'
'They've got cubs!' cried Toby, 'And we're so close to them!'
'It was very good,' Mummy told Daddy when they returned, 'We were so very close to the pride of lions.'
'LOOK AT THAT!' interrupted Toby.
'You can ride on top! I really
need to ride on top of that; it will be my biggest adventure!'
'You should come too, Daddy,' continued Toby.
'I'm not riding on top of a high truck!' said Daddy.
'You can also ride inside,' said the Safari Attendant, '15 Playmolians for an inside safari; or 20 Playmolians for a rooftop safari, 15 for children.'
'I don't need to ride anwhere,' said Daddy.
'Toby and I will go on the roof, then,' said Mummy.
'But you've already
been on the safari!' said Daddy.
'Not on top of this big truck,' said Toby.
'Well,' said Daddy, checking his wallet, 'I don't have enough cash left for you to go again. I've only got 24 Playmolians left now, and the Rooftop Safari costs 35.'
'There's an ATM just along there,' smiled the Safari Attendant.
'Yippee! We're going on the roof!' cried Toby.
'I've already been on safari once,' said Toby to the Guard, 'But this is my first time on a truck roof.'
'The lions should be just round those rocks,' said Toby, helpfully.
'The driver will back up, so you are nice and close to them,' said the Guard.
'It was rather exciting, travelling along so high up,' said Mummy to Daddy.
'It was the greatest thing!' said Toby,' And lions are not at all boring when you go on safari.'
