The one on the left makes me think of a broomstick, but surely that's too big, and the others are too rounded to be that, anyway.

I'm intrigued, and will love to know the answer!

Raven, all 4 tufts are unmodified Alpine hat tuft rotated at different angles.
Pynedor, you mean those tall feathers? The feathers, just like the PM drum snare, would seem flat if seen from the sides.

oh, you meant the black tassels....a bit too long but maybe I can try to fashion a long pony tail from these black tassels....thanks for sparking off this idea....by the way, these tassels are very useful for my mongols and korean Beonggeoji(military hats) too
