making a simple Kabuto(helmet) for foot soldiers

Most kabuto had a central dome of metal plates riveted vertically, radiating from a small opening in the top, called the tehen or hachimanza which was thought to be for passing the warrior's top knot through or for ventilation.
And the protruding metals studs called Tsunamoto, are for attaching accessories.

(The more elaborate kabuto are adorned with more metal pieces for additional protection and decoration for the higher ranked Samurai)

finally weathered my bright red laquered steel kabuto (in plastic modelling, I used to add realism by adding rust, bear metal, sword cuts, wear and tear etc....including drilling bullet/shell holes and burn marks by really flaring a match against the raw plastic to melt them a bit and also add those blackened sulphur marks)
....I know this will freak out most of us here...but no worries, I'll stick to making well-dressed, cloned and brand new uniformed soldier-klickies, I prefer them this way for PM...my plastic modelling days are history, haha!! purposely punned ;)
