Medieval Kingdom Spring 2016
« on: April 07, 2016, 13:29:25 »
I'm starting a thread to share some pictures of my latest kingdom, which includes a lot of touches that were inspired from you all.  I'll try to post a few pics every day or two with detail from various parts of the kingdom.  As usual, any feedback (including ideas to change!) is welcome.

Today I thought I'd post the first of a few I plan to do on the castle focused on the jail.

First, here's a shot of the castle from the marketplace.

Steps leading down to the jail (before people were added)

And a view from the front gates

And a couple with the jailers

Used the western sheriff's office bars for an outdoor cell next to the stairs

It looks great (and I really like the "ground" too!)

The balcony is indeed very nice

It looks very nice, I like that big prison tower, it looks very impressive with the banners.  :) I like how the steps down go to that jail and you used those arches in a nice way.

Thanks!  I have a big basement, so fortunately I will be able to keep it up awhile...probably until I get restless and want to build something else!  It's probably more a question of how consistent it will look, as I have three kids - ages 4, 6 and 7 - that love to play with everything.  I've resolved myself not to be like the dad in the Lego Movie and let them play with it and not get bothered by things moving around a bit.

The "ground" is just a couple of outdoor carpets from Costco.  My wife was kind enough to spot those that pick them up for me.

Great looking castle! I really like the overall design and the prison area. Did you do interiors too?

Working on a few of the interiors, mostly still in process.  I've spent most of my time (i.e., money!) on acquiring the building parts, but slowly building up the interior pieces as well.  Will share as they come together.
