Part Number For Beefeater Hat
« on: March 28, 2016, 02:05:41 »
Does anyone know the part number for the hat that appears on the Royal Guards?  I'm taking a shot in the dark but I need one for a custom that I am planning so I was going to try to see if DS has it.

Thanks!
I'm glad that I'm not the only one :)

It appears to be last found is Series 3 5243 so I think it could very well be in stock.  :crossed:

The one on the old/reissued special is slightly different from the one in Series 3. So presumably different part numbers.

(PS they aren't beefeaters)

There is a funny thread at Klickywelt (log-in required), discussing how this part was available at the DS/parts service for exactly one day (I may be off by a day or two) before it was pulled, presumably because of high demand... 8}

Here you go. Good luck!

PlaymoDB Part Info for "Bärenfellmütze"

Thank you Heather!

And StJohn, that doesn't surprise me at all. And turns out that I may not need it after all as I think that I may actually be better off doing some modifications on another hat (and using something like the milliput to add texture) but it's a project on the back burner, customizing some animals and hockey players will come first

Hauden-Lukas said in that thread he had his order reduced from 5000 to 500 pieces... or was he joking?
Other people said they had ordered 999 (probably a joke, the post included a 'giggle' smiley), 20 and 15 respectively, all unsuccessfully.
Only one person had received what they ordered.. 9 bearskins.

If people are really ordering parts in the hundreds, its not surprising the stocks run out so quickly! It makes me wonder if it is collectors which provide the biggest share of the demand for spare parts.
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

Well, I never ordered 100 equal pieces... but 40 or 50 yes. And actually I think it'd be easier for everyone involved to order like 200 bracers at once, than 40 one time... then another 20.. then...

Every time I try to order any sort of arm bracer, I'm told that it's out of stock or very low quantities are available. I would definitely order 200 or more at a time if that were an option. ;)
