The shiny metal on the volkswagens looks really nice in the pictures. Is it also that way in real life? Or does it look like it will come off while playing?

Yes, it's very shiny, but it's plastic, as far as I can tell, & reminds me of the chrome found on the original knights figures. I can't judge how long-lasting it'll be.
