Anyone know the difference between these versions of sets?
« on: February 05, 2016, 20:57:16 »
Although I am not a regular visitor to this part of Playmofriends, I hope you train experts may be able to help me. I am looking into the different versions of sets which Playmobil have produced (all themes, not just trains). The following list shows train-themed sets in Collector 3rd edition where I wonder what the difference in contents of the versions might be. For the first one on the list (4025) I can't actually see any difference in the packages of the two versions either, but I only have the Collector pictures to go on.

Set 4025 Versions 1 and 2 (Collector page 279)- No visible differences in packages; are there any known differences between the two versions?

4202, 4350, 4352 (pages 287 and 289) Box pictures differ between versions 1 and 2- any difference in contents?

4372 (pages 292-3) Box pictures differ between versions 2 and 3- any difference in contents?

4364 (page 291) Box pictures differ between versions 3 and 4- any difference in contents?

4356, 4357, 4360 (pages 290 and 291) Version 1 is in LGB Box, Version 2 is in Playmobil Box. Any difference in actual contents?

Can anyone help please?
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

Remarks:
— The 12V= trains runs on power fed by the rails. You need a transformer to change the voltage from the powerplug in your home to a save 12V= to play with. The power input in Europe is 220/230V~ and in the USA 110/120V~. So, although the content of trainset for Europe or the USA is the same, both boxes has a different transformer, and because of that, a different number.
— A product that is released again by Playmobil gets often a new number. Wagon 4124 (sold in stores) is the same as 6342 (sold only by Playmobil Direct service).
— Some RC trainsets have also a different number, because not all radio frequenties are allowed in every country.

Thanks for that prompt response, Marco_4124!

Perhaps I should clarify, I am interested in information on differences between versions of sets with the same set number, so although the boxes differ for the following pairs, what (if any) are the differences in contents between the two versions?

4202 v1 and 4202 v2
4350 v1 and 4202 v2
4352 v1 and 4350 v2
4372 v2 and 4372 v3
4364 v3 and 4364 v4
4356 v1 and 4356 v2
4357 v1 and 4357 v2
4360 v1 and 4360 v2

With 4025 version 1 and 4025 version 2, I cannot even see a difference between the boxes of the two versions (going on the two pictures on page 279 of Collector), so what difference is there between these two versions?

There are subtle differences in either the picture on the box or the printing on the box or both
