They all have the cartoon eyes, very weird looking. Looks more like the work of a customizer than factory production.  What next, noses and ears?

Are these the sets that are not in production but in development, the scientists and knights faces looks like a stickers? There is a seam on the eyebrows.

They could be prototypes, and not final production versions, hence the (possibly) decals.

The hat of that first pirate looks very weird too, and why does that knight have each hand in a chamberpot?
