Beware of Playmobil Offical Books

Beware of Playmobil Official Books
There are now two books out and the titles are.
One is “THE OFFICAL Playmobil ACTIVITY BOOK” ISBN 9781780553023 and is soft back book.
The other is “THE OFFICAL Playmobil ANNUAL 2015” ISBN 978-1-78055-239-2 and is hard backed.
The contents of both books are exactly the same.
Though they say Playmobil official they are not produced by Playmobil but by
Buster Books on imprint of Michael O’Mara Books Ltd., 9 Lion Yard, Tremadoc Road, London SW4 7NQ.
www.busterbooks.co.uk

I have sent an email to them to ask them why they have produced the same book with two different titles and I will post the replay when I get one.

What is weird is I never heard of a book changing its title and getting a second isbn # for the same content.
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

As I have had no replay to my email of last Monday I telephoned Buster Books and had a talk to them and suggested that in an annual you expect stories as well as puzzles. I later today received this email.

Dear Walter,

Further to our earlier conversation, I would like to apologise once more for the inconvenience caused by our Playmobil books.

The titles were chosen to satisfy the preferences of our distributors – some of whom preferred the 'Activity' title, others the 'Annual'. We attempted to make the two books as similar as possible so as to avoid problems such as the one you have raised, however, I appreciate that your complaint has shown these measures to be insufficient.

I can only recommend that you contact the seller and explain the situation to see if they will reimburse you for postage. The editorial team have been made aware of this problem and I have also passed on your comments about including stories in future editions.

Once again, I hope that you will accept my sincere apologies.

Kind regards,

Tom Asker

I only found the one on their website:
http://www.busterbooks.co.uk/books/the-official-playmobil-annual-2015-9781780552392/

It looks rather like the Playmobil magazines currently available from Tesco and other outlets in the UK (and similar ones which have been available in other European countries in the recent past), i.e rather dull! But being aimed at 6 to 9 year olds they are probably not too exciting for the adult PM collector (!) At least Buster Books didn't say they are aimed at boys, though the cover and content ("castles, dragons and knights") might not interest all children. And I personally think £7.99 is a bit much for something like this. Watch out for them in UK remainder shops (e.g The Works) any time soon...

It was nice of Tom Asker to reply so politely to you wasn't it Walter?
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)
