NASA Orion Lander module

My son and I love space stuff, and we were very excited to hear about NASA's new ORION capsule that will one day bring astronauts home safely from trips to Mars and the Moon (!)  This summer we saw the Rescue Raft (5545) at Toys R Us, and though angled, and not cylindrical, it came pretty close. So I custom designed some decals and purchased some ping pong balls and stripedy parachutes to recreate the entire process.

I'll post some behind-the-scenes process stuff in the Customs area, but here are the fancy pics I took!

Couldn't resist! These 80s astronauts were my introduction to playmobil in the 80s.

Great pictures of your new custom. Are you going to make a rocket?
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

I would loooove if Playmobil made authentic looking space vehicles. I enjoy their imaginative space and future world sets, but nothing is like the authentic tech we have in this world.

From what I understand, the Orion rockets will be massive, and this capsule is just the "tip of the iceberg".  They'll be jettisoning the spent rockets in space mid flight, and this capsule will be reused for new missions.

Check out this Lunar Rover that I found... perfect fit!

I had the same one from a random lot, it did not say playmobil, out it went. Some day geobra will make a neat outer space theme.
