4789 Samurai Special Plus




First BIG surprise - the upper armor is a new piece - a clockwork samurai!




He has a GORGEOUS color scheme (hey, I'm a Xenite - purple is good!)





The arms are particularly impressive. I wish I could have some extra ones - not sure what FOR specifically, but they're gorgeous. Actually, so are the legs


The stand surprised me too - it's very beautiful, if simply made, AND it works great too!



The flag is not the kind to stick on their backs, like all the others. Though pretty, it is not a nice color match to the klicky, so we ended up klicking a new one for it  (on the PROCESS).

I am quite happy with this set. A lot nicer than I thought.

It does look very nice. The entire Dragon theme does. Of course, I would love to see tents, houses, civilians, shops trees and plants to match.

Nice looking pictures. It is odd how the bits do not match, isn't that the point, at least the flag should?

I did pick up this guy, and he is quite nice. Did you also have an issue with his swords? They seem a bit loose in his hands. From what I see of your pictures, your gold swords seem to have the same little defect as mine.. the middle of the handle seems to curve to be thinner there, which seems to cause the loser grip.

I dont have much asians, just a few to potentially use as travelers in my medieval stories.

YES, we need more civilians on all these themes.... I think the asians look like tanks, and they are completely overwhelmed by dragons (dragonwhelmed?) - it's silly, overdone, and makes it... common. IMO.

The theme IS called Dragons, so at least they got that right.

I love the dragons, it's just too much lately.

This set really does look nice. Thanks for the review, tahra. Those arms are definitely good ones with the gold hands, and I'm glad that those old-style vambraces are being made again.

Yep, gorgeous arms! And we can never enough of those "vambraces"  (I tend to call them bracers, a silly "englisation" of the word we always used "braçadeiras" - things for the arms (braços)  )

That Samuari does look good agree about the weapon stand it's a nice piece even if they didn't think to match the flag to the warrior. Amused me what you said about him being a clockwork Samuari  I also think the hair they've chosen for him works quite nicely

I think both are fine. I guess I usually think of the metal-looking ones as being vambraces, and ones that look like they could be made of leather being bracers or arm-guards. Either way, I could use tons more of them. I have several figures who are lacking them right now!

Something else I like about this set is that the head looks to be moulded instead of printed! My dislike of those printed-only heads grows by the day it seems.
