Really!? Petting a camel?! Gods, brave people. (though of course, I have NO experience at ALL with them... gorgeous, but... they seem to have a mood?)

Well, there's kind of a flimsy fence between you and most of the animals. Only the goats and sheep are actually walking around in the same enclosure with you. Camels can be kind of dangerous, but most of them are pretty docile.

The artist with his purple checked cap, though - I do like that cap.  Is it from an artist Special set?  Or from where?  I'd love one of those caps.

You know, I honestly have NO idea where he is from. I was trying to remember that myself. Probably some victorian set. Anyone know?

He's from 5510 The Victorian Family. He also appears in 5955 (although the shoe covers were added as the Klicky does not have them in either set)
I'm glad that I'm not the only one :)

I remember being butted by a sheep when I was little - but most of the time we got along   - I used to take him bread, on my way to school with my grandpa. And on a later school there was a goat near by (back then, kids were not locked up behind high fences - that actually changed the next year on that school :( ) and I used to share my food with her - she'd eat ANYTHING though - had to be careful!

Must be AWESOME to pet a (docile!) camel :)  (they make many appearances in the Amazing Race (my guilty pleasure), and they are usually.... not .... easy.  ::) )

Looking forward to you new zoo!

Ah.. the hats I have repeats of are the grey one (from the GORGEOUS torso gardener), not that one.

There can be weird choices in fair petting zoos, must be decisions made by the carnies. Ours had a deer, kangaroo, and many animals I had no idea what they were. Keeping baby wild animals who were bottle fed do not make them docile pets. No camels yet, give them a few more years and I bet a baby elephant will be in there. Alpacas and lamas in our area are quite nasty, biting and spitting, must be the mountain lions stalking them that make them nervous
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Ah yes, must be from the FAO schwartz set. I wonder where I got the shoe covers. I sure don't remember customizing this guy. 8}

Wow, this is fantastic Bonnie.  :inlove:
I love so much of it but especially the game booths, they are so cleverly done.  :wow:
The whole diorama really captures the feel of a fair.

Thank you leefert, regarding the purple cap.  I've just looked up the part number, but it seems that the cap is no longer available from Direct Parts.  That's a pity.  The 5995 set is likely to be expensive secondhand, but maybe I can find a reasonably priced 5510 (or two) one day.  At least now I know which direction to look in.

If I come across any in my searching for parts I will let you know

There is so much to love about this diorama!

The booths are brilliant! The creative use of the target for the dunk tank is great. All the games are wonderful (love the construction stuff used to build the hammer strength test!) as well as the awesome displayed prizes.

The contest for jams and pickles, and all the animal exhibits are spot on. And all the food stalls are great.  The whole thing really makes the new funfair sets come to life. Nice job!  :xmascheer:
