Holiday Village 2014 setup
« on: December 11, 2014, 17:44:11 »
I posted pictures of my 2014 setup for the holiday season over at my blog - http://thecreativepensieve.blogspot.com/2014/12/christmas-village.html

The only non-Playmobil pieces used are  the baby blocks spelling out the FAO name in the older pictures, as well as the snow, the ice rink, and several miscellaneous items in the village.

Do enjoy!

Ooooh, super cute

And wonderful story about your grandmother's Christmass tradition.
I hope when I have grandchildren, they'll still want to join in with the diorama fun  :house:

Thanks!

Also, I wanted to add that the church is made of spare Steck castle parts - the back of the upper story of the "bell tower" is empty as I couldn't fit the window piece in as the ornamental edges of the triangular roof was in the way... no way was I sawing that bit off. So it's a "fake front" for the bell tower - ha!

The doors were reversed too - normally they're the red/white striped ones from the 3667 but I liked the black better so I turned them around and it works!

It does make a nice village church - the modern white one would have stood out like a sore thumb and wouldn't have blended nicely with the other buildings.

Very nice details!  :house:

I'm glad you included the shot of the whole village at the end!

I especially like the lit up tree seen through the window, and the ice with the birds on it.

Great looking village! I love these sorts of things. My own is set up now and I will be posting photos hopefully next week.

Beautiful dio of classic stecks you created. I am sure you grandma would be so proud
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Beautiful diorama, such a cozy feel.  It is always such a treat to see the dioramas with the classic steck.  Which set does the  dog jacket come from?
