I actually have three Nativities out: the second version regular one, the 123 one, and THIS tiny beauty from the Christmas Living Room set:

MY NATIVITY HAS A TINY NATIVITY ON IT

I LOVE THIS FACT

A smattering of Roman soldiers would be nice, too.

Last week I was thinking how PM could expand on this theme. In Europe you see huge cribs with shepherds, artisands, townfolk etc ... would be nice to have that in PM form and marketed as such. It's nice to keep these traditions going.

I've always been a bit confused about the visitors that came to see baby Jesus. Where it wise men, shepards, kings? Or where it three wise shepard kings?

Wouldn't kings have a big entourage with them as well? Where was their support later in life? Surely they'd want to stay informed about this special baby?

Not to be rude or anything, but even when I was a child, I have had so many questions about the nativity story.  ???

Shepherds first, then the wise men. Yes, the wise men would have an entourage. Actually, there's nothing that says there were three. I presume they would have kept an ear out for Jesus, but that would be difficult because they lived really far away, Mary and Joseph fled to Egypt for awhile to hide Jesus from Herod, and nothing really remarkable happens between that time and when Jesus is about 30 (by that point the wise men might have already died).

Yes that book does raise oh so many logical questions

I pesonally love all the nativity sets for the great klickie that they provide.
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Thanks for the explanation! I gues its still puzzling how the wise men got to be there the night jesus was born, but its part of the miracle I suppose. Personly I'm not religious but I do like some of the biblical stories.

They weren't there. They actually come when Jesus is a toddler. We cram everything together, but really the wise men would never have seen Jesus in the manger.

As kids we were always told that the three kings followed the star (the same one that the shepherds followed, but they arrived earlier) right up to the manger.
We celebrate 'Three Kings' on the 6th of January, so I always kinda assumed they arrived a few weeks after Jesus was born.
It makes for a cosy nativity scene though  :)
