After receiving a gift certificate from the place I did volunteers work for over a year, I decided to spend it in a fitting way. It's a toy loan store which sadly had to close down due to lack of business.

With the new medieval sets in stores, I just could not resist.

Let's start with 6160: Dwarven treasure.

There are quite a lot of items in here, to me treasury stuff is always usefull. There's even two sets of coins here, usually we only get a single set for big treasure chests which kind of bothers me.
Quite some storage too. A big chest, two small ones and a pedestal.
Personly I'm quite happy with the axe since I only had one of those, and I believe its the first time that halberd is dark metal?

Here is everything fully set up.

The treasure chest fills up nicely with all the coins, the gold nuggets and the two crowns. Also great that its in the new shiny gold from recent years.
The dwarf guard seems quite versatile. I might change his hair a bit since that mustache keeps sliding down a bit which can be seen here. I did not notice it when taking the picture.

But why guard a treasure instead of claim it for yourself?

The red rubies seem new, and are nice new parts for any treasury. Also interesting to see the classic treasure chest make a return. In this color it could be great for a sunken treasure at the bottom of a lake.
The lights are nice, I do have a picture of them on later.

Moving on to 6004: dwarves getting trolled.

It's a nice set, the troll's colors look a lot better than expected. Also that warhammer is a great new weapon and the grey dwarf is beautifull. Other dwarf is kind of meh due to the armor attached to his arms.. now he can't really be used as a civilian. But it does look nice combined with the chest armor. A shame he has that awfull beard but I gues it does not look that bad on a fat dwarf.
Seems my set came with an extra dagger. Always nice since this model is not used that much.

And here is the set fully assembled.

While I usually do not like the helmet the grey dwarf wears, it somehow seems to work a lot better for dwarves. While I dont think those dwarves can hold that big troll, I am sure these chains could just as well be used to chain him to a wall if theres a clip on it that can hold something.
I must say that I really like the troll. Sadly his neck armor cant be removed without breaking it, and he cannot turn his head to look left or right. He can tilt it a bit though, and his arms and wrists have great movement. His legs cannot move. It's a shame he can't sit.

Also, his feet are sadly like this.

But still, I can really recommend the troll for anyone who wants to dabble with fantasy. He is very much the classic image of a troll.

Moving on to 6003: the dragon.

It's a nice set with a beautifull dragon and a boring dragonslayer. The accesoires are alright though.

Here is the set all assembled.

The dragon can take on many poses, and I am not sure but is it new to have an axe like that with a dragon's head as art on it? A shame of the yellow handle though.
The dragonslayer may be usefull when he is given light armor for his arms and head. It would match better no doubt. I think he can clean up nicely with a change of accesoires.

It is possible for a single clicky to ride on the back of the dragon.

Only one of his spikes seems suitable for this though, and here you can also see the flaw of this dragon: when he has his mouth closed you can look into his head from the back. It can be remedied in pictures by opening his mouth whenever he is photographed from the back though.

It's a nice set mostly due to the dragon. It actually looks very similar to one we have in the dutch fairytale theme park "de Efteling."

For those wondering about sizes, here is a height comparison.

I changed the haircuts of the dragonslayer and black haired dwarf around, it seems to fit better this way.
Trolls are not really that big, but seem big enough to appear intimidating.

Especially to classic clickies, since he can hold them up by their legs!

I do not recommend doing this with clickies that have boots on or otherwise are thicker around the legs. I wont be held responsible for trolls breaking legs.
Also, here the lights are seen turned on and here you can see that dwarves can have a normal sword in their belt. And a cool dragon pose.

And a last thing to note about the troll, he can hold stuff clickies can hold if it has a long handle to grab. Something with a small handle wont work.

Also here you can see how big the warhammer is for a normal sized clicky and it is proven that dwarves do not fit in treasure chests.

And creepy dragon is creepy.

Nice reviews they look like great sets, you certainly seem to get value with the treasure set as you say plenty of coins and nice gems which is good. The Dwarves look nice particularlyl the blue/grey and yellow Dwarf the hair and beard combo looks good although I agree about the helmet not normally one I like but, strangely it seems to work. The Dwarves must be very strong and determined to keep that Troll chained up he's cool your classic Troll yet in a way his expression is also sort of cute he seems to be well scaled, I also gotta say as much as I like the old dragon of the 1990's with his big huma style hands this one is much more of what you'd expect when you think of a classic sotrybook dragon complete with nice flames and even a little baby drgaon and egg  :love:. Those last two photos are great  :lol: poor classic Klicky you survive some extreme playtimes with kids reach a nice old age and then get shaken about by a big Troll  8}

Thanks for the great review!
It looks like they took a little step back with the dragon. The last black dragon could hold things in his hands while it looks like this one can't. I like the overall styling of her but there are aspects that just aren't as nice as in some past ones.

Thanks for the pics - I tried to make the troll hold Boomer Click but didn't want to force it...

The red "gems" are not new. Maybe they were in those space sets? Those silly blinky winkies, weren't they fed those?

I loved the pictures!!  :)  Those dwarves are pretty awesome. I also like the treasure.

Oh hey, you're right! Maybe that's why I like her so much  ;D

Thanks everyone. Just wanted to make sure the good and the bad things are shown. The back of the dragon's head is not that bad. Most shots of it wil likely be from the front or side, so the few made from the back just need a bit of smuggling.  ;)

Probably best to only use clickies with classic legs to put in the troll's hand. Don't worry, that old clicky is fine. Think I might put him in a story sometimes.  :)

Had no idea that the gems where used before, not that familiar with the space themes though.

Maybe in fairies too... not sure..
