figure with twisting torso
« on: November 12, 2005, 18:53:03 »
Hi,

I wanted to check out if it was possible to reconfigure a female figure so that her upper body could move from left to right. I think it worked nicely. The first picture is in neutral position and the other pictures show the twisting motion.

Wow! Another first. :o

You never cease to amaze me, MBL. How did you achieve this? I'm assuming there's some kind of 'pin' which holds the two sections together?

Great stuff! :)9

:o  Wow...yes, please! Tell us how you managed this! (Soon we may have twisting and kicking klickies! My chorus line is starting to seem possible!)

WOW

you have been busy.
I am very intrigued on how you were able to make the grand lady's arms stay on.
I assume the arm still have their original mobility

It all started to fit together (mmh, multi-layered expression ;) ) when I was thinking about this idea and was holding a male and female frame next to eachother. I noticed they could be merged into one frame.
Here are the necessities to start with...

Next I cut off the redundant portions of both frames, drilled a hole in both ends and connected them with a flanged pin with the upper half of the frame assembly glued onto it, making a pivoting movement possible. The outer body was then cut in two to match the split level of the frame (actually I used 2 bodies to compensate for material loss during cutting with a metal saw). The technique can be improved, as this is just a prototype.

Your technique with the frames is amazing.
I can see the devel is in the details.
Such precision with each frame :)9
