Chris's EMS/Fire Academy
« on: August 30, 2014, 17:46:58 »
This is a project Chris did several months ago now, which I have been meaning to post. We got several schools very cheap at Toys R Us, and since he has just finished up at an EMS academy himself, he was inspired to do a custom EMS and Fire academy, so here it is. I was very impressed with his design, architecturally speaking.

First some overview pictures:

Front of the building

A closer view

The side of the building

Bronze statue

Love the way he stacked several floor pieces to raise the statues up.

And from the back

Now some more detailed pics of the interior:

The front lobby area. Had to remove ceiling pieces to get pictures of these two front rooms

Reception desk

Student lobby

The fire class lounging while they're supposed to be working

Fire instructor coming to see where his students have gone

education director's office

Janitor cleaning the restroom. You can also see the necessary coffee pot which is between the two classrooms.

top view of the classroom area

Fire classroom, complete with projector screen and projector

Instructor's desk

Hose nozzles

SCBAs

A final overview of the room

Paramedic students returning one of the mannequins to the director's office.

The EMT and paramedic classroom, where the paramedic students have clearly been hard at work ordering pizza and playing video games

Another projector system

CPR mannequins in various sizes, along with other teaching tools

A final shot of the room

And that's it! Hope you enjoyed it.

What an amazing building. Lovely details. Especially the classroom all prepared and the statue of the fireman rescuing a baby are very nice. Thanks for sharing.

That's great - so many details.

(I said it before but )  I love that statue!

And... do you master the technique of removing the "frame" from speedo bodies? Care to share?

Nice work looks like Chris has amde a greta building, I like the stundents lounging about  ;D, the CPR mannequins work well I've practised with a couple of them and those ones look like they've got that sort of feel to them. Also really like those medical books with the body diagrams and warning signs and of course those bronze statues are they customised or made uisng existing parts or what?

Thanks everyone! The bronze statues are customs, we used krylon fusion hammered copper paint. There was a thread here about them: http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=6348.0

You mean removing the chassis from the legs? I don't know if I mastered it exactly, but it can be done by slipping something under the tab in the front.

Tell Chris that it looks great!  I love some of the details he included like the CPR dummies, and I LOVE the statues as well.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one :)

Fantastic building, lovely details. The use of the security camera as a projector is genius!

Chris did a very nice job!
