A brilliant diorama! So much details and so much variety of klickies! And is it just me or has the ginger cat on the balcony moved?

Thanks playmofire, Salamander and Mr Raven. I'm so very happy that you're enjoying it as much as I am  :)

For the photos I've installed two very bright spotlights from different positions. The roof here is very high with beams, so they're high up. Somehow it works  :)

the use of the grass sheets (I guess they are from a model railway shop or wargamers shop, they look like the sort you can buy there);

the drives of the houses look very realistic - did you use sandpaper for them from a diy shop?

Yes both the grass and the 'sandpaper' come from a model railway shop, they came in large sheets like you said.

I've been experimenting with different types of flooring, and I'm pretty happy with what I found this time.
What I still need to buy: a double sided tape roller! Everything keeps curling upwards, no matter what I try.

And is it just me or has the ginger cat on the balcony moved?

I know, she just wouldn't sit still  ::)

In effect, they are the same as the sun, although not maybe in 1:24 scale!

Looks like Meg is skipping school here, she's playing at home while Nathan is in school and he's in her class.  :P

Yeah  I actually thought about that when shooting this diorama: 'How come those kids at home are not in school?'
At least I made sure there weren't any kids on the street  ;D

For such a small supermarket, they're also a bit over-staffed...

What a delightful little town in which I would love to live

Everything is set up in such a realistic yet fun way and I love the way you have used the plants throughout the diorama to create a real "green feel" !

The word that comes to my mind is happy little people !

Well, when I was little (and dinos roamed This Land  ;D ), kids didn't get stored in school all freaking day long. Young kids had school in the morning OR afternoon. Schools did NOT provide warehousing for the whole rest of the day, with the pretense of "assisted study"...

Wow  :o  When my parents were in school, they even had school on Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning.

Here in Belgium, school is from 8.30am to 3.30pm. And that does not even include assisted study hours...

I meant little kids - when I went to "high school" (from 7th to 11th, cause the 12th was soooooo light!) we did have some days with classes in mornings and afternoons. There was a year where they had the unfortunate idea of classes saturday morning  :hmm:  It was "drawing"... when it rained the night before, the classroom would soak, and no class!  :P
