An important visitor
« on: April 27, 2014, 20:49:51 »
Hey guys on Thursday I was out with BTCV working at a site called Woodfield Park in Doncaster. It was a very unusual day for us as we had to be on our best behaviour for our very important visitor Ed Miliband the leader of the Labour Party. This of course meant we had to doa lot of faffing about and not a lot of work to the extent that we all had to wear special Health Lottery or TCV tshirts and take off our high vis vests for the photographers and that we got new branded ceramic and plastic mugs and a new Kelly Kettle which must have cost a fair bob which we couldn't use (apparently needs cleaning first) to serve the visitors tea with.

At around midday the army of politicans descended on us and me having made the brew was asked to help pour the teas and handed a cup of tea to give to Ed Miliband  :o rather surprised by this and disorientated by all the people asked where he was, and lo and behold he was behind me waiting to do the usual meet and greet  :-[ so I shook hands told him my name and I think he asked me some thing else and then went back to a more comfrtable distance to watch, a certain irony to all this for me since I hate politics and wanted just to steer clear of the politicans. In fact I think the little guys were more excited than me Scott wanted to have a look what was going on:

Mr Miliband 'helped' us build our footpath by tipping a wheelbarrow which some of our volunteers had filled with aggregate earlier and raking it out (there's some good photos from the newspapers he's clearly got a very light delicate touch with the rake  ;)) before they all disappeared like a puff of smoke down to the other end to plant some bareroot trees (note that these sort of trees should be planted in winter so end of March is pushing it not very well planned) and talk to some of the volunteers. Which meant we could get back to some sort of normality while those of us who chose not to go to the free buffet.

It was actually quite a tring day although that may have been because it was fairly warm, either way I'm glad we don't have visitors like this every week

Is that an ant on his shoulder (guy with rake, not Ed Muddlebland)?
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

In the interests of balance, you now need to produce photos of visits by Dodgy Dave and Slippery Nick.

Thanks well gotta mark the ocassion I didn't want to be photographed but, it would have really been great if I could have got him to pose behind my BTCV Mini Carbon Army for a group photo really would have been a once in a lifetime shot, ah one can dream  ;D

That last picture is a cool one. :)

Thanks I just looked the other week and saw how suddenly everything had just had a real growth spurt and was looking really green and lush and I've done some photos of Scott and his pals doing footpath work but, I wanted to do some more different ones to show our path and the woodland looking green and lush.

Great pictures, Scott.

Thanks mate  :)

Thanks I couldn't resist an opportunity like that  ;D ;)

Yes he's Toby based on one of my friends (Iwant to get him some shorts since my pal wears shorts virtually all year round) I was looking through the photos and I thought hang on what's that on him?  ??? oh wait he's got a bug what luck that that was the clearer photo adds a bit of extra interest.

Yeah that'd be good I think it's probably for the best that Mr Cameron doesn't visit otherwise I and probably quite a few others not just in our group would probably be tempted to give him a good punch in the face or worse for a ll he's done for me  >:(. As for Mr Clegg or Eggy Cleggy as I've come to call him I've already had that pleasure my Mum asked me to listen out for anyone delivering parcels while she was out, I heard a knock and answered the door and he says to me "Hello I'm Nick Clegg" right mate first bad move, then he asks me if I'm Sophie or Lynne  :hmm: bearing in mind that I'm currently transitioning to be a man this didn't go down too well so he gives me a survery and I'm stood there nodding trying to be civil then he asks if they've made a mistake so I say I'm transitioning and leave it at that I'm not about to go into detail with someone like him who's betrayed his roots to join with the elitist Tories, yeah so not exactly the best first impressions there.

Those are great pics! Glad to see mini-Scott again! I'll show that to his pals here ;)

Thanks mate he's been around still busy as ever but, just haven't got round to uploading to many photos at the minute, I hope his friends enjoy seeing that he's doing well and working hard tell them he says hello to everyone

I love these pictures and the fact that one little Playmo could also join the meeting  :)
