Flatbed Truck
« on: March 14, 2007, 00:27:53 »
Hello Everyone,

The city of Playmobil recently took delivery of a new utility truck for fire department maintenance and to haul the special response trailers.

I like it, Ben!

I remember that we had a flatbed truck for the PD and it was used all the time. I'm sure that the FD must have had one or two as well. We also had side rails for the PD flatbed, which were used quite often when we carried rescue equipment. We also used it to pull an air boat trailer.

Thanks for a great custom, Ben!

All the best,
Richard

BTW, Click HERE for something you may not have yet seen! (And, these are just the "M"s. Change the "M" in the URL to see the other departments.)

Glad you liked it!

Look under the "R"s, Dunc. Rowley FD has a similar vehicle.

All the best,
Richard

In fact, if you click HERE, Dunc, you can see all of New England's fire trucks and even our fire trucks here on St.Thomas in the US Virgin Islands ...

Excellent custom, Ben, and I really like that colour scheme - very impressive indeed.  And the Unimog is a good choice for it.

Flatbeds of one sort or another are becoming more common over here carrying drop-off specialist equipment.  It's something I've toyed with with the idea of using palettes, but I'm taking a different route.

Hello, Gordon ...

Thanks for getting us all back on topic!

I came across that website while/whilst looking for a flatbed. It doesn't appear that flatbeds are being used in any of the New England states (unless I missed them ... which is very possible since there are literally hundreds of vehicles displayed on this website.

I hope that Ben doesn't mind Dunc and me straying just a bit ... ;)

All the best,
Richard

Great truck. I suppose the new Builders truck will be a good possibility for a similar conversion. I have one of the trailers but nothing to pull it. Will have to give it some thought.

Interesting link, thanks Richard.

Hello  Ben

Another amazing custom, thank you for sharing it with us. I remember promising a while ago to send you a few peices of rescue equipment. The good news is i have finally got to work on it after quite a long break  :-[ !! Things are back on track though and you will soon have a few new toys as a gift from TJW Rescue Equipment Ltd.

Kindest Regards  Tim
