Double clips and colours
« on: March 28, 2014, 09:37:19 »
Is there any functional difference between the old black (and now available in brown) double clips from the US cavalry fort and these new ones that looks shortened without the hole in the centre?

2nd question: is ther only 1 type of brown clips, i.e., from the old mould with holes (except that the artist left out the hole from the drawing?) meaning to say the brown clips with the holes in the photo is the same with ETN 30 24 1440?

3rd question; can I safely assume the grey clips are of the new shorter design?

and thanks once again Heather, for your still unbeatable and irreplaceable website!

The new clips without the hole are a finer version of the original version.  If you wish, I'll scan them alongside each other and post them so you can see exactly.  As to whether they function the same, I'll do some tests.

Please do, Gordon! The old ones were meant for holding those building parts together ...so they can't hold weapons very well....do you think the Brown clip with ETN is the new type? I wonder if the new ones were used in any building(besides holding accessories)...if playmodb is fully operational...it would easily resolve this ;)

30 27 1060 is much smaller than the other older ones, it has klicky hand grip, ie. it fits firmly to all parts that are meant to being held, if you are considering it for attaching small equipment things to others  it is your best choice

http://www.amazon.com/Playmobil-5790-Police-Special-Agent/dp/images/B002T31TV0

it comes with
4146 Apple Harvest Compact Set
4217 Mitnehm-Ritterfestung mit Schild und Schwert
5127 Car Ferry with Passengers
5152 E-Rangers Collectobot
5790 Special Agent
5864 Knights Shield Playset
@geobra: Thanks a lot! :-)

WOW!! thanks HM-Micheal!!
...all along I thought it was the same bulky piece so I continued to use those calvary fort clips which was quite a problem when fixing extra spears behind a shield and flags behind a samurai's back etc :P
...and thanks...I cant locate these sets numbers without more knowledge of IT in navigating Heather's PlaymoDb..thanks for these too!

I'm very clear about the grey 30 27 1060

but can anyone confirm whether brown 30 24 1440 and black 30 02 5190 (not 100% sure from their pictures above) are also this compact version (can't see in playmodb which sets they come from), thanks!

and last but not least, the black triple clips 30 02 5200 holding the Roman bolts are also compact versions (would you believe I'm still using the old and looser triple clips from US calvary forts...unaware of better new parts for so long :P)
