The problem is not actually replacing the legs... The popper solves that. But buying klickys for half of them makes it a bit.. expensive. Bare feet never did grow on me....  :-[  And I know we have a few of those ancient sailors..  ::)

They are rather cheap, btw.
I've ordered some figures from DS costing up to 3.80 euros (!!!) and those sailors are "just" 1.85 euros.  ;)

Yes they are a very nice crew good simple design I quite like the fact they have bare feet and quite a good variety of different facial hair although that may be due to customising? The Captains unfiorm is rather impressive as you say not an overly complicated design but, works well. The ship might not be exactly the same as the original but, I was surprised when by chance I was looking at my old Pirate posters and the ship and crew were of the same design guess it shouldn't surprise me to much that they chose to rerelease the old crew and ship but, it was a pleasant surprise  :)

That's interesting to know. Is it made with cannon cut outs for the big birtha ?

Nope, the cannon-ports on deck are just wider to allow the canons to swivel more sideways and have a wider aim.
This is because - in contrary with it's original version 3740 - the DS-one has attachment-points to clip on the front of gun-carriages. This was first introduced on the 3174-schooner, and then the re-edition of the 3860.
Later with other versions, the larger gun-openings appeared (I believe the first one was the 5810).

And starting with the RC-schooner and now the DS-version of the white schooner, there is another change: there are narrow vertical gaps in the railing (inboard) near the stern, on the portside (probably to to pour water out of the hull easier when holding it upside-down, after play in the tub or pool)

And of course, the original canonball-canons have been replaced with arrowshooters...
