In other words PM marketing did a good work in choosing this theme for production. So why are people annoyed with the 40th year sets?

I think they made a good choice!!!

These sets look beautiful - I am looking forward to seeing them next year.

I agree that 5-8 would make more sense.  I have only begun introducing Playmobil to my son in the past month or so and he still loves playing with all his 1.2.3.  He will be 4 in May.  Oh and he is definitely better at taking it apart then putting back together.   :)

In response to the 40 Years sets - it's two separate issues.  One nice thing about the 40 Year sets is they are being realeased in all the markets this year but it would have been nice to have somthing really special.

Indeed, the anniversary sets are simply supersets released under a different name. Hence why theres no new supersets.

And its all just not anything special.. the medieval set looks like a rehash from the recent medieval batch instead of a prelude to what's to come or an homage to the past.

I guess in 2015 the new Playmobil themes will be aimed at babies and they'll win another toy-award.
In 2025 the new themes will be inserted in the womb during pregnancy and they'll win a Nobel-prize.

Resistance is futile, you will be boarded!

I heard that if a pre-parent plays with enough toyS the good vibe transcends into your reproductive enzymes thus producing a happier child. That's what I heard  ;)
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:
