I would like to see some more details, just because it is a neat looking truck and so close to scale - if playmo has a scale lol.

Here they are Richard and Dunc.  The quality is good and they make quite a range of stuff in fire and rescue and city life, but not all to the same scale so not all will go with Playmobil.  Unfortunately the website of the British importer is being rebuilt and so isn't available and the German website only shows the RC range.   As well as the Unimogs I also have a nice G-Wagen in UK police, fire and ambulance livery.  I'll do a pic of that too.  The pic called pump1 shows the top of the version with the built-in water tank; the other version has chequer plating.  The yellow lining is mine and, yes, one lot needs redoing.  The British version has the legend "Fire Engine" which I've replaced with the yellow lining.  The German version has "Feuerwehr"

A couple of shots of the boat and the trailer pump now.  I plan to add a blue light to the boat.  As you can see, on the fire engine without the built-in tank, the rear shutter opens and in the storage locker is a length of hose which connects to the trailer pump.

Playmobil scale is G Scale (1/22.5)

Hello, Dunc ...

G Scale was established by LGB Nürnberg (just down the road from Zirndorf). And, as most of you may remember, LGB produced their first battery powered trains for children in sets that included Playmobil klickys!

When I get to our home in Canada this summer, I'll make some scans of those old Playmobil-LGB sets (please remind me).

Thanks for the additional photos, Gordon. I would love to see the G-Wagen, but can't imagine that it's replaced the Land Rover!

Here are some more photos of the Peterkin range.  There's the fire version of the G-Wagen with me along side, plus the ambulance version.  I can't lay hands on the police version, but it's as the ambulance but blue and yellow battenburg.  One thing that's unusual is that the fire one has aplain red rear door and black spare wheel cover while the other two have a red and yellow striped rear door and a spare wheel colour with a warning triangle on.

Now a very nice BMW X3.  This is a custom as it came just as an estate but I fitted it with the working blue light and a length of red striping on the tailgate.  Since then, an "official" fire version has appeared with a roof light as on the G-Wagen, plus police and ambulance ones, with battenburging like the G-Wagen.  These all come with two figures in appropriate uniforms (well, the fire version has firemen in German uniforms).

All of them, Unimogs, G-Wagens and BMWs have powerful friction motors.

Interestingly, the first version like mine doesn't have the BMW badge on the nose and wheel hubs, but the later versions do, just as the first Unimog didn't have the three-pointed star but the later version did.  Were these UK versions produced without the permission of the makers originally?

These and the G-Wagens are all UK versions imported by Peterkin.  I don't recall seeing Dickie (German) versions of them.

Can a Klicky actually sit inside, or does it require some modification?

Also, do they ship to the US and do you have any idea of the cost in USD?

I know a klicky needs at least the legs removing to get in a Unimog and I haven't tried with the rest (yet).  I have them mainly for background interest and because I like them.  When I have big incidents to deal with, the Unimogs have the role of "over the border" assistance, and vice versa when they have major incidents and need help from me.

The BMW I've used as my staff car (and the G-Wagen) but I now have a Playmo custom staff car under way.

I don't know about them being in the USA, but you should be able to buy them through Amazon.com from both the UK and German Amazon sites.  When I inquired from the UK site about buying from the German one, they sent me some very helpful notes (and I must do something about this as the German Unimog and trailer pump are on offer on the German site at the moment).

Hmmm ... I was asking about modifying the vehicles, Gordon ... :lol:

It doesn't seem that a legless Klicky would have an easy time as a firefighter ... ;)
