Hi PlaymoFriends,
it's good to know, that there a people out there with the same interest and hobby.
Here some facts about me:
I was born in 1974 near by Zirndorf where Playmobil was founded and my father got in contact with some Playmobil designers in the really beginning of Playmobil (but that is his story, not mine). But that's why I got my first parts even before I could walk. I can't imagine a life without Playmobil.
I took a brake playing Playmobil when I was 14/15 years old, but I never lost my interest in reading the actual catalogues. Me and my godchildren visited the Playmobil-Fun-Park in Zirndorf (just a 30 minutes drive from where I live now) every once in a while and I remember very well my feelings when I saw the big pirate ship in the Fun-Park for the first time. It was so strange to stand up on the deck in real, not in my imagination. Dreams came true...
Now I'm as old as Playmobil and my own children (daughter, 3 and son, 5) got really into my passion. I opened the first Playmobil box with my old knights and the castle about one year ago. Now the knights, policeman, firefighters and top agents are mixed up everywhere in our house.
My personal addiction are the trains. As a kid I had three trains (LGB). Now I've mixed some rc-trains and the old ones. So I can drive the trains with the transformer on 8 circuits while my son is driving the rc-trains without taking care of the electricity. It's really fun!
And just a few days ago I fulfilled my biggest wish ever: I bought the old tender loco (4052)! Even if some little parts are missing, the loco works and the dream goes on... I'm not a collector who needs all the original parts or the exact items to each theme (but I even wouldn't say no if I could get them somewhere). I just wanna play and build my little Playmobil world in my attic (60 sqm). Pictures will follow...
So that's my Playmobil story as short as possible. Thanks for letting me joining the PlaymoFriends community.
And by the way, my name is Tobias...
