Yeah that kid does live on the wild side  ;)

Thank you for your comments, Ras!
I came up with the lantern holders because I had already used the normal lanterns for the two-seater-coach.

The grass stuff is lovely indeed. It's as flat as a piece of paper:

I'm sure you can order it from any model railway shop.

And then: the houses and their interior - my favourite part of diorama making

First up is the hotel. To cover the system-X holes and to give the building a bit of a fancy look, I used bits and pieces from the extra rooms for the 4250 princess castle.

Very annoying: at one point Playmobil stopped producing chamber pots for the old-style bedside tables.
I had to buy several snowmen sets, because they have chamber pots for hats. Maybe a winter diorama is in order  :)

This is the big mansion with sun room and garden.

I squeezed in a bathroom  ;D

These are the servant's quarters. The wooden floor boards are the same printed cardboard material as the street outside.
There should be some wallpaper but I haven't found anything suitable... yet.

Then there's the orphanage.

This is the office of the head mistress. I ran out of Victorian lady clickies at this point, so lets assume she's out on business.

The kitchen is Sylvanian families again. I think it's adorable, but hush  :shhhh:

The small house is occupied by an elderly couple.

(I lost the golden chord thingy that goes on top of grandpa's hat, when I was a kid  :hissyfit:)

Last one  :)

This is the house with the extra floor.

That's my Victorian town, hope you liked it.

I'm thinking of having the circus come into town later on. Which made me think Playmobil should do a circus train with Victorian wagons, like in Disney's Dumbo or in the movie Water for Elephants.
Or a fun fair for that period. I could easily fashion a bearded lady clicky  ;D

Wow.

AMAZING. Love the grass too - all the "floors" actually. Makes a world of difference in a dio. Yours is GORGEOUS!

And the use of the roman porch was inspired :)

Also love the sylvanian stuff - they make such nice items... I wonder if there is a way to buy parts - like, 2 potatoes, 10 grapes, 2 breads.. ;D

Again, great work - thanks for sharing :wow:

:lmao:  with the amount of that stupid stubble head, that should't be hard at all...

That's a superb diorama, Birdie, and wonderfully captures the bustle of a turn of the 20th century town.

What are these Christmas tree markers Rasputin mentions, please?

Thanks a lot, Tahra and Playmofire

The lantarn things mentioned by Rasputin are the red things with regular lantarns clipped on, on either side of the red western coach with black horses you see in one of my pictures.
I can't remember which set they came from, because I've had them for a long time. Help, anyone?

Wonderful diorama, Birdie!  Love your attention to the little details that make all the difference.  The row of half timbered houses is one of my favorite shots.  How did you adhere the window boxes to the upper train station windows?
