Pirates Advent Calendar
« on: December 04, 2013, 21:31:48 »
Hello guys I'm sure this set's probably already been reviewed at some point but it's a first for me in fact it's my first Advent Calendar full stop so I would like to share my feelings and indeed my Pirates feelings about it.

My Pirate was very pleased with my choice he thought it was much better than that silly Police Advent Calender after all we've got loads of them and besides he doesn't need more of those Law Enforcement guys watching over him, also he say he's lonely he has recently gained a new friend since there was a Pirate in with the stuff I bought at the Market the other week but, stillhe hasn't got much company and his old pal the Sailor just doens't really understand Piratey matters. Speaking of which his pal the Sailor is not so keen on my choice he says that he's alright with the Pirate as they grew up with the same owner play fighting and such like but, he's worried that we might soon get overrun by Pirates who might not be as friendly towards him  :o

Looks like he was right first box open and it's a Pirate oh no! The other Pirates like the look of him he looks like he's been out at sea for a while but, they like the colours of his costume

"Hey what's going on whhy's this Treachorus Enemy Dog here in our midst!" the Sailor retreats back startled by this sudden outburst looks like he was right to expect trouble "Hold on there that Sailor's with me, he's my buddy you see me and him grew up with the same human we know each other he's a friendly enough sort he won't do you no harm or betray us I give you my word" says his old buddy stepping between them "Aye any friend of his is a friend of mine" says his bearded friend slightly begrudgingly

Later though their differences are forgotten as they bond over a good mug of ale

Next up they got a message in a bottle they wonder where this might lead them. I've got to admit I'm quite pleased with the drawings on this piece

Next day and there was someone who couldn't wait to be let out of his box

"Look what I found in this box"

It's a beautiful little map very nicely printed and I was quite impressed and surpised by the compass the sticker's printed on one of those special plastics where the image moves depending what angle you're viewing it at what a cool unexpected surprise

The guys were quite happy with Thursdays box

"Yay more weapons!" meanhwile the little boy was making some new friends

I bought these kids at the Market a few weeks back and thought they'd get along well together. The LEGO Pirate made friends with my first Pirate seeing as neither one had any other Pirates for company, since then he's carried on hanging around I think the guys accept him even if he is a rather odd small yellow man but, now he seems to have found himself a job looking after the kids

On Friday we were alll very happy with the box

It's been a long time since I've had a Pirate rowing boat and now it means that they can go exploring the seven seas (well ok the big pond at Botanics but, that's just as exciting if you;'re that size  ;) ;D). I've got to say when I managed to figure out how to put the carboard scenery together that I'm quite impressed with it, it's fairly sturdy and a nice colourful design plus plenty of room and areas for the guys to explore, I've left the Advent Calendar at work but, I figured it was best to bring the scenery home otherwise it would get squished out of shape or turned into wet mush knowing the guys down there.

May as well take it for a test row and bring back some supplies

The kid doesn't look like a pirate child at all. The adult pirate is meh-y, too, like he was cobbled together from spare parts. Very nice and entertaining review though  :)

I quite like the adult Pirate he's nice and colourful and I like the raggedness of his clothes he's certainly a better design than the white pirate. I agree about the little boy though he doesn't look much like a Pirate just like an ordinary boy like the other two with no shoes even a little bandana or  priniting an eye patch or something would make him look more like a pirate boy/castaway so far though I'm pleased with the Advent Calendar  :arrr: :captain:

Where's the snow on the ground?!

(it's -40 here ...)

I noticed the pirate in the Advent calendar has black and white stripes on his shirt.  Yet, he has yellow shirt sleeves and yellow on the lower back of his shirt.   ::)  Looks rather odd, yet it's obviously intentional.
