Knights of Malta.

Hi all!
I've been toying with the idea of constructing a diorama depicting a small scene of the Great Siege of Malta, and I wanted to show you my version of the Knights of Malta.

Nice! I will look for these legs now.  ;D
But may I suggest something? Don't use the cutlass holder - it covers the cross. Use black belt instead. I would like to see the cross in its entire beauty.

Nice clear strong design I like the look given to them by the shoulder pads and of course those beautiful helmets  :knight:

I understand why you added the shoulder belt, but like HDL said, it hides the cross. Otherwise, these customs are great, the morion fits these legs which are more from the Renaissance era than high middle ages. And the presence of the handgun dates these knights in the 16th century as well. Nice use of parts.

Very nice.

One question: is the black garb historically correct? I always see pictures of them wearing a red tunic (like grandmaster La Valette for example), and with a straight-edged cross (like the one on the old Maltese knight released years ago) rather than the Maltese cross one: kind of like the Swiss cross, if you see what I mean. And to go against the grain, I do prefer the cutlass belt rather than the normal kind, even if it does cover the chest area.

Nope.But I stubbornly refuse to use non-Playmobil parts, stickers, paint or other materials while customizing, so this earlier (black) version of the Maltese (Hospitaller) knights was the best I could come up with. :)
