For medievel figures the Lion Knights Troop 4871 is a good addition as an opposing team. For a more pastoral thing then the Shepherd add-on 6204 would be a good one.

I highly recommend the current dinosaur theme by the way. It's the best they've done of dinos ever.

Oh that's a relief to know about the new Dino sets.  I heard lots of great things about the set released just before this one so I was apprehensive about which one to get. For birthday I got the trex volcano and the flyer dDino that's out of print.. Before it's unavailable anymore. Hoping family members will contribute to the long necks and three horns (can you tell I watch  alot of the land before time??  Lol)

Looks like a great set your son's a lucky boy, if you want some more civilian stuff then I often see suitable figures just looking on Ebay as Rhalius said some of the 90's set did seem quite good for that sort of thing they were ncie and colourful and not necssarily as heavily armoured as some oft he figures today also figures like this one I've got you can take the armour off and use them as a civillian which is good.

Looking on the database reminds that in the add on catalogue one of the sets you can order is a medieval family which could be good as well, anyway hope you find something suitable and that he enjoys his castle

There's a nice princess figure in the series 5 F?gures.

If you find them on Ebay, the figures from nativity sets or Noah's ark sets make decent peasantry. Some of the figures from the princess sets would work for nobility.

heh well back when I was a kid, I was very happy with getting playmobil for christmas and really didnt mind getting only playmobil. At times parents can get crazy ideas about giving other stuff than toys for christmas after all. 

Was for Sinterklaas here though, but its pretty much the same thing just a bit earlier and no tree but a bag full of presents.   
Most the stuff I can remember getting for sinterklaas during my childhood was playmobil, I got my three favorite knights that way.

Some people have the craziest ideas. I HATED that. That is why I NEVER give kids anything BUT toys.

As for playmobil, I'll be happy TODAY if that is what I get for xmas/bday, whatever. It is one gift people can't get wrong
