Yes, but when they reached 12 and 14 they had lost interest a bit and I had to confess that I was really buying it for myself!
However they still help me with dioramas for Kirkbean Exhibition  every year.  :)

hello and welcome from the netherlands!

28 and childless, yet I buy the occasional bit of playmobil. Mostly medieval and pirate stuff to make picture stories with.
Been away from playmobil from around age 14, had trouble letting go of these charming little people but peer pressure and parent pressure got to me.
Occasionly I did buy a little box over the years, but the occasions where rare up to two years ago.

Back then I saw some nice pirates and having a dentist appointment coming up, I promised myself I would be allowed to buy a playmobil box for every individual thing that needed to be fixed at the dentist.
Fate would have it that all my four wisdom teeth where pulled out, which meant I got to buy four playmobil boxes for myself.

Soon afterwards, I bought a redcoat fort at a toystore and signed up with playmofriends. Pretty much doubled my collection ever since. Taking it slow these days though, I tend to make one big purchase each summer and buy some smaller things through the years in stores.
Dont have that much space so need to reserve it for the stuff I really can put to good use in stories.

Im trying to go slow as well with my son. He has his own room but it fills up really quick  with toys lol.. and between Playmobil and Imaginext theres not much room. Imaginext takes up a lot more room though! Just last night my sons camper van family went on a vacation to the Imaginext jungle and that was interesting lol.

Im going to get him the dino set and airport sets this year, and add to them probably through out this year and next year, then later when hes about 6 start on the castle and the pirateship sets.. and that should be it. I cant really see him playing with much else, but then again, things change so fast. He wasnt even the slightest bit interested in the airplane until we got the pilot fi?ure so we'll see.

and welcome from Amsterdam, the Netherlands! Yes, this is how a renewed addiction starts.. When my wife was pregnant, I bought in a sale six Praetorian (Romans), two gladiators and three crusaders.. I was overwhelmed how beautiful the klickies are.. Bought some regular legionnaires as well on the DS, an emperor on eBay. In the meantime I had become a father of a.... daughter. Kept the soldiers for myself and bought some fairies and unicorns. Now my collection is three or four times bigger then when I was a kid.

Used the soldiers to make chess sets in themes.. Romans vs Gauls or Egyptians, crusaders vs mongols etc. A new idea came up: a Playmobil fantasy comic! Posted on this board (links in my signature).

Make some free space in your home indeed, like mfrankena said.. and better keep the wallet closed sometimes if you don't want to end up under a bridge.. ;)
