The last adhition/jewel of my collection

I got this set in perfect conditions. Im not sure how rare it is but I was surprised by a couple of things.

1) At first sight it looks 100% Playmobil though it has no set number, I was looking for the word "HERPA" in the box, and it's not there. So it was a little confusing. The only Mention of Herpa in the set is under the car, as shown in the picture.

2) The clickies surprised me too!. I have the yellow Mercedes Benz from Herpa and that one came with an articulated doll, not Playmobil, besides it says Herpa all over the box.

3) It's curious that they made only one box, being the red car the one illustrating it. When I got it, knowing I bought the blue car, it was a little frightening to see the red one all over it.

4) It looks PERFECT.  I wish the Playmobil-Herpa was still alive!! 

When was this made? what year I mean. anyone knows?

I love them too - I think there were.. 4 versions? I think I posted the pics somewhere. With two different playmocouples.. Those are gorgeous cars.

I bought a white mercedes more recently that came with a weird santa.

I was told this was a promotoional from Volkswagen Germany, a sort of give away when you bought the real car or requested a test-
anybody knows if that's true?

It's a great car. I have the blue version. I think they were available for purchase from the dealerships at one time. I've had mine for years now.

Well, the car is a BMW not a VW (VolksWagen). It also says on the box printing. I dont know about the give-away but it seems reasonable (although maybe also to prospective buyers or other customers).

(Don't tell a MISB collector that the box is "in perfect condition" since they wouldn't agree)
